The smell of a traditional bush breakfast of sausage, eggs, bacon and tomato will waft from the Historical Village welcoming all bush poet enthusiasts.

Please come early to guarantee a seat as a limited number of spaces are available.

Start with sumptuous, rib-sticking tucker, followed by some food for the soul with comic poetry from Wally (The Bear) Finch, Mark Feldman and Mary Finch supported by a crazy crew of selected local poets.

After enjoying the entertainment of the Bush Poets at breakfast, take the time to browse the Village which boasts over 50 buildings of historical significance on a 4 hectare site. The buildings are furnished with thousands of donated items. Added features are: miniature train, licensed bush pub and wagon rides. Specialty shops in the village include - carpenter, craft, herb and potted plants and many more. A separate entry fee to the Village applies. Show your Bush Poets Breakfast ticket to receive a discounted rate.

Special Shuttle Bus Service

A special shuttle bus service will run to the Bush Poets Breakfast on Saturday 3 May. It will depart from Beerburrum Road, outside the Council buildings at 6.45am.

Bush Poets Corner

Take time out from the hustle and bustle of the festival, spread out your blanket and enjoy the entertainment at Bush Poets Corner in Town Square. Local bush poets will fascinate you with Australian verse and rhyme, telling stories of days gone by and days to come.

There is an open microphone, walk up poets are welcome.

Please bring your own chair or blanket.

Bush Poetry Competition

Cost Adults: $5
Children: Free (15 and under)

Bush Poetry is defined as poetry with good rhyme and metre written by an Australian and/or about Australians, Australia - its places, or things.

People of all ages are encouraged to join this competition which is open to local, interstate and international people with a love of Australia, the people and the way of life.

Winners of the competition will be asked to read their poems at the Sunday Bush Poets Breakfast, held at the Caboolture Historical Village.
