We want you!

The Urban Country Music Festival relies heavily upon the wonderful commitment of our volunteers to ensure a successful festival. Experience the festival hands-on and gain an intimate perspective of the festival.

The UCMF team comprises of 70 volunteers, affectionately known as Dusty's Team. Some are involved up to six months prior to the festival helping with such things as event set up, signage, displays and merchandise - just to name a few.

If you'd like to become a festival volunteer please call 1800 810 400.

Our volunteers work tirelessly throughout the year providing tremendous support to the event team. Without their hard work and dedication, the festival simply would not be possible. Be sure to say thank you to them when you see them throughout the weekend.

Thank God for the Volunteers

The following song was written by our Volunteer Coordinator Cat Holland as a thank you to our volunteers. It was performed with gusto at the Volunteer's Thank You Function. Lyrics are sung to the music of Thank God I'm a Country Boy by John Denver:

Well life as a vollie is hardly laid back,
We work you pretty hard and don’t cut you no slack,
But we couldn’t do without you and we hope you’re coming back,
Thank God for the Volunteers!

Well a simple kind of diet for the weekend, yes please
Another toasted sanga with tomato ham ‘n cheese,
Then you wash it down with some coffees or teas,
Thank God for the Volunteers!

Well we gave you a shirt and we gave you your roster,
With your lanyard and hat you sure ain’t no imposter,
And when it’s quiet you can listen to Don Costa
Thank God for the Volunteers!

Well without the Volunteers our festival would flop
We’d be really stuffed without you – is that a fair cop?
So please come back next year and don’t leave us on the hop
Thank God for the Volunteers!

I’d pay you lots of money for your work if I could
But the Moreton Bay Council wouldn’t take it very good
But we ‘ppreciate and love you as of course we should
Thank God for the Volunteers!

Well we gave you a shirt and we gave you your roster
With your lanyard and hat you sure ain’t no imposter
And on your breaks you can line dance to Don Costa
THANK GOD FOR THE VOLUNTEERS!
